To most men who prefer battling hair loss without the messiness of topical solutions, a pill has been introduced to the public that is specifically designed to treat hair loss, like the finasteride pill (propecia). This pill works as a DHT blocker and can likely re-grow hair particularly on the top (crown) area of the scalp. Other men experience hair regrowth at the hairline. However, there is no sufficient evidence that can prove the efficacy of finasterides in re-growing hair at the hairline. Finasteride is one of the most sought-after hair loss treatments for men only and should not be taken by women as this can provide teratogenic effects on a fetus. Studies show side effects also occur when taking this drug; prevalent side effects are erectile dysfunction and testicular pains.
